Take Note

There isn't enough time to read thoughtful writing, so why do people waste so much time reading the self-conscious ephemera of blogs? Forget the latest technology-induced trends. Just because the bloggers of the world can make their every word known to the public doesn't mean we should pretend that their thoughts somehow matter.

still extraneous, still filler, but now it's amusing

Operation Ohio: n, In 2004, when Ohio was a major battleground state in the presidential election, a group of well known musicians, writers, artists, and actors moved to Ohio the two months prior to the vote. They worked tirelessly to convince voters age 18 to 30 that their country's inheritance, its economy, and its environment were in incredible danger. Their ceaseless dedication to convincing young voters of the importance of participating in the coming election led to an extra 50,000 votes within the demographic and swung Ohio into the Democrat column, its 21 electoral votes winning the election for challenger, John F. Kerry.

For gretchen, who has said this belonged here from the beginning:

Been a whole lot easier since the bitch left town
Been a whole lot happier without her face around
Nobody upstairs gonna stomp and shout,
Nobody at the back door gonna throw my laundry out
She hold the shotgun while you do-si-do
She want one man made of hercules and cyrano
Been a whole lot easier since the bitch is gone
Little miss, little miss can’t be wrong

Little miss, little miss, little miss can’t be wrong
Ain’t nobody gonna bow no more when you sound your gong.
Little miss, little miss, little miss can’t be wrong
What’cha gonna do to get into another one of these rock ’n’ roll Songs?

Other peoples’ thoughts they ain’t your hand-me-downs
Would it be so bad to simply turn around
You cook so well, all nice and french
You do you brain surgery too, with a monkey wrench

Little miss, little miss, little miss can’t be wrong...

I hope those cigarettes gonna make you cough
Hope you hear this song and it pissed you off
I take that back I hope your doing fine
And if I had a dollar I might give you ninety-nine

Little miss, little miss, little miss can’t be wrong....
